Evidence (in the dream I was hiding and the rain was falling down)
Evidence (in the dream I was hiding and the rain was falling down) is a collection of LMP’s confessions, chats, emails and photos,
mixed with fictional elements. Personal material is exposed and presented
as criminal evidence, turning the viewers into investigators.
The work is structured around some recurring themes and images: the figure of the father, New York City, guilt, innocence, sirens, and rain, symbolically associated with both divine punishment and salvation.
While the private becomes public, the artist’s intimate words, imaginary scripts and others’ writings merge in the same archive, challenging the distinction between authentic and performed self, vulnerability and spectacle.
Thinking about the boundaries between intimate and public in the age of hyper-communication and exposed subjectivities, LMP was crossed by the thought that if one looks closely enough inside someone, they will find a hidden sin.
